Introduction
Quaid-i-Azam University could be a international
seat of higher, advance, intellectual learning that illuminates the human minds

development.
Quaid-i-Azam University (once named Islamabad
University) was established in Gregorian calendar month 1967 beneath the Act of
National Assembly and commenced teaching and analysis programmes for Doctor of
Philosophy and MPhil degrees. It was, however, step by step and later set to
supply Master’s, graduate, and currently collegian programmes. The University,
for its international repute, college and programmes attracts an oversized
range of foreign students though it offers admission to a measured range of
scholars from all regions of the country because it may be a federal public
sector university.
It has been able to establish its links with some
selected universities in Europe, South Asia and therefore the us. The
international educational and research institutions including UNESCO, IRSIP, Agencia
Espanole de Cooperacion International (Spain) etc. collaborate their research
activities with the Quaid-i-Azam University. Moreover, an inexpensive size of

universities like Oxford, Cambridge, Columbia, Heidelberg etc. earning hand
clapping and awards like International Peace Award from Brussels.
Currently, the Quaid-i-Azam University has four
schools and 9 different teaching and analysis Institutes, Centre and colleges.
Briefly included; college of Biological Sciences, college of Natural Sciences,
college of Social Sciences, college of medication (affiliated), space Study
Centre for continent, North and South America, Centre of Excellence in Gender
Studies, National Institute of Pakistan Studies, National Institute of
Psychology, National Institute of Historical and Cultural Research, National
Institute of Asian Civilizations, and the Computer Centre.
For growing instructional and technical desires
of the country, the University imparts quality education and training on lower
strata of life in the field of computer and runs a wide range of short-term
certificate and diploma courses. In all, the University’s academic programmes,
have an enrollment of over 5,500 students.
The University conjointly maintains a high normal
in providing services. It has well equipped lecture rooms, state of the art
labs and libraries. Other facilities like hostels for male and female students,
sports and play fields, transport, mosque, bank, utility look, post workplace,
photocopying and thesis/paper binding, telephone, café etc. are centrally
located on the Campus.
Quaid-i-Azam University (Urdu: جامعہ قائداعظم; usually stated as QAU) may be a public analysis university in
Islamabad, Pakistan.
Founded as the University of Islamabad in 1967, it was
initially dedicated to the study of postgraduate education but expanded through
the 1980s to an interdisciplinary university offering undergraduate and
postgraduate education. The university has, as of 2015, grown into the largest
varsity in Islamabad with a total enrollment exceeding 13,000 students.The
university is on a 1700 acres (or 6.9 km²) campus on the foothills of the
Margalla.
Divided into four colleges and nine connected analysis
institutes, QAU is among Pakistan's largest and highest ranked public
universities.Currently, it is ranked between 551-560 in the world and top 133
in Asia by the QS World University Rankings whereas its regional publications
hierarchical QAU among a hundred and
twenty in Asia in 2013.The Times Higher Education World University Rankings
ranked QAU between 401-500 globally and prime seventy nine in Asia in 2018.
The university is nationally known for its research,
technological advancement, and intellectual interaction with international
institutes, including the United Nations, University of Tokyo and the ICTP.It
is one of the most in style universities within the country and counts many
public figures and intellectuals among its current and former school,
researchers, or alumni since its establishment. They embody Maleeha Lodhi,
Nasim Zehra, Shamshad Akhtar, Suhail Zubairy, Farzana Aslam, Tasneem Zehra and
Salma Zahid. The university is currently led by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali.
· History
The University of Islamabad was established on Gregorian
calendar month twenty-two, 1967 under the Act of National Assembly of Pakistan.
It was renamed as Quaid-i-Azam University in honor of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali
Muhammad Ali Jinnah, founder of Pakistan in 1976 - which was the year of his
birth centenary. However, the orthography of the University's name were
unbroken totally different i.e. "i" was used instead of "e"
for Ezāfe that links the two words in Jinnah's title Quaid-e-Azam.
The University offered teaching and research programs for
PhD and MPhil degrees in the beginning and later offered Master's programs. The
University now offers undergraduate programs as well.
